This animal is the only one that will never die

The concept of life always consists of two elements: Life and Death. Yet, this animal is extraordinary and bizarre in that it marine biologist/scientists believe it is the first and only animal on this planet that will never die. Creepy but true they are calling it the immortal jellyfish.

Say goodbye to having to wash your clothes!

Well the project is not to its final stages yet but, scientists have come up with a superhydrophobic spray that acts as a protective coating over clothes so that they do not get dirty. Can you believe it? Well believe it the ooze is like this black goo that coat over shoes (test run for now) containing a super small nanoparticle that is hydrophobic (blocks water).

Optical Illusions

Optical Illusions are not really "optical" if anything they have more to do with your brain rather than your eyes. In other words an optical illusion happens when your brain cannot believe your eyes. Try this optical illusion it is fascinating.

The Venus Fly Trap is a carnivorous plant that can catch and digest its prey. Yet, recently a man has claimed that this plant can also digest human flesh. If this is true I suppose this would be the first plant ever to be called... man eating...

What happens to all of our Junk?

They call it planned obscelence. I call it not fair. They design all of our technology to fail. 50 years ago technology was made sturdy and tough now, it is made to brake the next day. Drop Mouth Science is a big fan of science and technology but recently has heard of what happens to all of our old technology and can see it is not pretty. Everytime our technology is so called "broken" we do not attempt to fix it, instead we throw it away without trying. All of this thrown away technology is dumped in tons in different countries of Africa such as Ghana. They are basically living in our old technology and we are envading their territory and ruining their natural land. While we encourage that people stay fascinated with science and technology in the world Drop Mouth Science also encourages being responsible with our technology. Ask yourself can it be fixed? Is it worth trying? If not try to find a credible place to recycle your technology. This spiel probably is not enough to convince you of how bad the situation is but hopefully watching a little bit of this PBS documentary Digital Dumping Ground will.

2012 Crazy Theories

We are less than two months away from the notorious year of 2012. We have been hearing theories of how the world is going to end for a very long time and recently I came across an article put out by NASA about a Solar Flare Storm expected to happen on the Sun in 2012. According to Dr. Michio Kaku the suns solar storm could be so bad it could knock out the power in the united states for more than one year.

From a Derma Blend Campaign

When I get older I probably will need some makeup to cover a few blemishes hear and there. Let us not forget that the world of cosmetolgoy is not only an artform but also a world of science; combining chemicals in ways to either make us an item of beauty or distortion. This video is one I found in an ad campaingn. Keep an open mind and just realize that what  you see is not always reality.

Yes he is watching

My sister recently found a funny picture on Facebook and I thought it would be a great idea to share it with you all! Our brain works so interestingly. This man is looking at you harder than you think. Your brain initially sees a man staring at you...but look again is that really what you see!

100,000 year old art cave found in South Africa.

This is from an article in the NYTimes who got it from Science/AAAS

Researchers have found an artifact from a South African Cave that seems to be over 100,000 years old!
Now that seems like Drop Mouth Science!

This artifact comes from a art shop that they used to make mosaics and other artistry in the early times of homo sapians and the first form of paint was created. Scientist believe it is ancient because of an ancient
form of orcher and reddish pigments that were used in those times.

This is the first cave that was found that is older than 60, 000 years old.

The New York Times has great articles on amazing science like these caves.  Read more about this 100,000 year old cave
