What happens to all of our Junk?

They call it planned obscelence. I call it not fair. They design all of our technology to fail. 50 years ago technology was made sturdy and tough now, it is made to brake the next day. Drop Mouth Science is a big fan of science and technology but recently has heard of what happens to all of our old technology and can see it is not pretty. Everytime our technology is so called "broken" we do not attempt to fix it, instead we throw it away without trying. All of this thrown away technology is dumped in tons in different countries of Africa such as Ghana. They are basically living in our old technology and we are envading their territory and ruining their natural land. While we encourage that people stay fascinated with science and technology in the world Drop Mouth Science also encourages being responsible with our technology. Ask yourself can it be fixed? Is it worth trying? If not try to find a credible place to recycle your technology. This spiel probably is not enough to convince you of how bad the situation is but hopefully watching a little bit of this PBS documentary Digital Dumping Ground will.
